Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I use this?
We have an explainer video in the Teach Me link above. It should explain everything.
Is vigorish (house edge) factored into this?
Vig is not factored in because you are comparing two prices. Make sure that you are comparing apples to apples by having a vig or vig-free price for each of these. In comparing totals, you can enter both the Over and Under price to get a more accurate answer. You can also remove the vig from these lines via the Remove Vig button.
Does total impact the spread price?
Yes, it does. For a more precise comparison, enter the total by click on Show More Info. It’ll be assumed that the total is the same for both spreads you are comparing.
Can I use the Compare Lines Calculator for leagues not listed?
No, the Compare Lines Calculator is specifically designed for just the league you choose.
How do I compare a moneyline to a spread?
To compare a moneyline, set the spread to 0.
Why doesn’t MLB have a spread (runline) listed as the First Line input?
MLB & NHL are moneyline-based sports which require a moneyline price as the starting point. We do allow you to compare a moneyline to a runline, however, it’s not possible to compare a runline to a runline.
Why doesn’t NHL have a spread (puckline) listed as the First Line input?
NHL & MLB are moneyline-based sports which require a moneyline price as the starting point. We do allow you to compare a moneyline to a puckline, however, it’s not possible to compare a puckline to a puckline.
What are the limits of what I can compare?
If you enter a value too small or too large to compare, the calculator will reject your entry. The limits are:
NFL: +24.5 to -24.5 and totals between 30 to 66.5
CFB: +43 to -43 and totals between 34 to 88
NBA: +25 to -25 and totals between 180 to 270
CBB: +42.5 to -42.5 and totals between 100 to 200
MLB: Runlines up to +4.5 and totals up to 20
NHL: Pucklines up to +4.5 and totals up to 12
Do you plan to add WNBA, USFL, XFL, Minor League Baseball, or KHL?
Each league is unique. To add additional leagues requires expanding our data science research to those sports. There are no immediate plans to add them, but we are always looking for ways to expand Unabated.
