We’ve got a NFC Championship rematch/potential 2024 preview this weekend. Is it the Sunday night or Monday night game? Of course not. Who in the NFL offices could have known that the Eagles and Niners would be a compelling matchup in 2023? Well, regardless, it’s compelling in your NFL Week 13 pick’em pools.
The Pick’em Edge Tool says there’s a playable edge in the game for your contests this week, too – on either sides, depending on what number you get.
Pick’em Pools
With the Niners at -2.5 in the contest line, you’re on the right side of the 3. That’s where the Unabated Line sits at the moment. Yet only 43.1 percent of players at RunYourPool are using San Francisco.
Which is understandable. It’s a game that can go either way and no one ever loves taking road favorites against good teams. But the edge is there.
The Niners are also -2.5 at DraftKings, and like RYP, the top edge is with Denver. The Broncos are 3.5-point ‘dogs while the consensus line says they should only be catching 3 from the Texans. Also like RYP, the Cowboys showed a chunky edge. Until DK Metcalf caught roughly 32 touchdowns on Thursday night, anyway.
The Broncos-Niners-Cowboys-Steelers top four at SuperContest is the same rundown as at Draftkings, though the Panthers, Jets and Lions represent a few of the better edges available this week. Pittsburgh at -5.5 keeps you off the 6 against the tank-driving Cardinals.
It’s a slightly different story at Circa where the Eagles are already catching 3. Consensus is at +3 (-106) so there’s a little bit of an edge here when you don’t have to sweat the juice. The Chiefs are also getting you nearly 3 percent at -5.5 against a consensus -6 at Green Bay.
Survivor Pools
If you skated through Week 12 by taking Tennessee against the Panthers, you’re going to have a little bit of deja vu in Week 13.
The Survivor Optimizer is once again recommending fading the Panthers and their owner who should probably stop talking.
If you’ve already used the Bucs, this could be a week to break out the Steelers against the Cardinals or the Jags against the Bengals. A game that’s on Monday night. Instead of the Eagles-Niners. Sorry, we’re still not over this.
Unabated Entries
The season-long hopes for Circa Millions are on life support (the contest leader has 44 points, while Team Unabated is at 35.5) but the third quarter has been going better.
Is it enough to get a piece of the quarterly prize?
Week 12 was tricky because the Thanksgiving/Black Friday games compressed the available picks for any team that waited until Saturday to submit. Which included Unabated.
Captain Jack kicked us off with a little analysis that was largely agreeable to the crew.
After a little confusion as to which quarterback was actually playing in Atlanta, Unabated went with Bears +3.5, Bills +3.5, Rams pick’em, Saints pick’em and Broncos -1.5.
The Saints came up short in the Someone-Has-to-Win-the-NFC-South Bowl, but it was enough for a 4-1 week. In the third quarter standings, there are three teams tied with 14 (including the excellently named “Roman and Maurice”) while Unabated has 12.
Making up two points in one week is tough. How would you play it? Let us know in the Discord.
