Altmaier after beating Shapovalov: "This was a special match against another one-hander. It was a great match, and intense." On what he's done since retiring at the US Open: "I prioritized recovering my body after my injury at the US Open. I went back to Barcelona and spent some time practicing there. I’ve been regrouping, practicing, and getting ready for the Asian swing. I think I was the earliest player to arrive. I’ve been here getting used to the conditions and I don’t feel jetlagged anymore, which has helped me. I've been here since Thursday, which gives me an advantage over players coming from the Laver Cup."
