The German was outgunned at times but proved the steadier player overall, extending her head-to-head lead to 3–0 against the American. After dropping the second set, Lys looked physically spent and required an off-court MTO a left thigh issue before the decider—but returned with her leg strapped and managed to outlast Pera in the end. The American struck 10 aces but offset them with 9 double faults, and struggled to keep the ball in court when it mattered most. Commentary: "Gutsy effort from Lys. She looked gassed after set two, but found a second wind. Pera just couldn't keep the errors down when it got tight." Lys 6/2 4/6 7/5.
