Your Next Steps With Unabated

By now you should have some basic familiarity with the tools at Unabated. Now it gets really fun.

Whether you already took a one-on-one demo or you read through our guide to getting started with Unabated, it’s time to explore some of the more robust features we have to offer. 

Unabated membership has four tiers. Each tier incorporates all the benefits and features of the one below it:

• The Free tier available to all has basic functionality like real-time odds on the screen, prop odds, and a few betting tools. 
• The Props+ tier focuses on tools for prop bettors, DFS pick’em players, and those who play in season-long contests like NFL survivor or pick’em pools.
• Premium is our flagship tier, with full access to everything we offer at Unabated. 
• Concierge membership gives access to incredibly powerful tools to help streamline and simplify the process for high-volume players looking to maximize their edge. We’ll talk about Concierge membership separately. 

For now, we’re going to focus on our two main paid tiers. The tools presented are listed in roughly the order we think you should learn them.

Prop+

At the Props+ tier, members are able to access additional betting tools to help you spot better bets, ensure the bets you’ve made are positive-EV wagers, and aid you in putting your bankroll to its best use.

Betting Tools

• The Compare Lines Calculator is a tool you’ll keep coming back to day-in and day-out. In an NFL game, is a ‘dog +3.5 (-130) a better or worse bet than +3 (-105)? Should you bet Under 8 (+110) or Under 8.5 (-115) in an MLB game? Learn how to use this calculator to make apples-to-apples comparisons and always ensure you’re getting the best of it. 
• The Closing Line Value Calculator will show you how your bet did against the closing line. If you use a vig-free closing line, you’ll even see your expected value. Making bets with a positive expected value is at the heart of profitable sports betting, and using this calculator can help you gauge your overall edge. Read or watch more about how and why to use it.
• Should you hedge, or should you let it ride? Hedge betting is properly understood as a function of bankroll, not of risk. Use the Hedge Betting Calculator to plug in your variables and see how you should play it when you’ve got big decisions pending. 

Prop Betting Tools

• The Prop Odds Screen functions similar to the Game Odds Screen. It includes a built-in, in-line simulator so you can compare your projections against current prop lines. If you want to better understand the in-line simulator, you can use the Props Simulator for NFL, NBA, CFB and WNBA props to see how it converts mean projections to medians and uses distributions to find fair prices based on projections. 
• Now that you understand how our prop simulation works, you’re ready to use the in-line simulator on the Prop Odds Screen.
  
  This video will give you an overview of how it works. You use the drop-down menu to choose any of our pre-loaded projection sets, or source and upload your own. Use the green simulate button to run your projections through the Props Simulator and see what your edge is according to your player projections.
  
  You can also blend multiple projection sets together. Choose which numbers you want to blend, weight them, and we’ll do the rest.
• Our Prop Odds Screen also includes market-based projections. These are projections reverse-engineered from current market lines, and they adjust as the market does. While you can use them to find outlier lines at some books, we recommend using them to blend with existing or custom projections. Blending in these projections allow you to regress your numbers to the market. That way rogue numbers far afield from the market are less likely to lead you astray.

DFS Pick’em Tools

• The DFS Lineup Optimizer is an excellent resource for PrizePicks and Underdog Fantasy players. Similar to props, you simply load in your projections (including market-based), blend them as you wish, and use the tool to start putting together entry slips where you can see your overall edge.

Pool Tools

• NFL pick’em and survivor pools have become incredibly popular over the past few years. If you’re a pools player, we have tools to help you find the optimal path through survivor using the NFL Survival Pool Optimizer and quickly spot the best edges in weekly pick’em pools with the NFL Pick’em Edge Tool.

Premium

The Premium tier unlocks the full power of Unabated, starting with one of our most critical tools, the Unabated Line.

The Odds Screen

• The Unabated Line is a vig-free consensus line made up of the sportsbooks that are the sharpest market-makers. It uses a different blend of books for each individual sport. Some books are sharper than others in various markets.
  
  We regularly update our analysis of the books that are the best fit for a sport’s market, so you can be sure you’re always getting the most accurate assessment of the betting landscape.
  
  It represents the best estimate of the true, fair price of any given market. The ways you can apply the Unabated Line to attack various bets are too numerous to list, but here’s the overview on what it is and what you can do with it. If your bets are beating the closing Unabated Line, you’re accumulating significant positive EV.
• The Edge Tool takes you a step beyond the Best Line on the Odds Screen and shows you exactly what the edge is on an individual play. When the edge turns green, you’re in a plus-EV situation. 
• All market-making books are available on the Odds Screen to Premium members who are canvasing the market on their bets. These are currently: Bookmaker, Circa Sports, 3et and Sharp Book P, a real-time odds feed that approximates current prices at Pinnacle
  

Betting Tools

• The Alternate Lines Calculator will answer any questions you have about pricing alts lines and totals. It’s not uncommon to find mispriced alts at retail books and they can be a juicy source of profit. Here’s how you use it. 
• Similarly, the Partial Game Derivatives Calculator takes full game sides and totals and will price out first halves and quarters in the NFL, first halves in college football, and periods in the NHL. Get started pricing partials and hit markets that are more lightly defended.
  
  We do handle MLB First 5 Innings slightly differently – those have their own Unabated Line and aren’t priced strictly as a derivative. Because of that, First 5 isn’t supported in the calculator, but do have their own spot on the MLB Odds Screen. Just toggle the drop-down from “Full Game” to “First 5 Innings”
• The Teaser Shopper will show you just how much of an edge your teaser plays have in the NFL, NBA, college football and basketball, and the WNBA.
  

In-Play Betting

• We hear all the time from bettors who focus almost entirely on in-play betting. Toggle any Odds Screen from “Pre-Game” to “Live” to see current live odds updating in real-time. We have a suite of in-play tools for MLB, NBA and college basketball  to help you identify books where their in-play trading is vulnerable.

Football Tools

• The NFL Season Simulator is the best tool in the market for finding value in NFL futures. You provide the power rankings or choose from some of our pre-loaded ratings – including the Massey-Peabody Ratings. Then run the simulator with your custom settings. We’ll give you fair prices on Super Bowl outrights, conference winners,  win totals and alts and more. 
  
  The simulator doesn’t stop being useful after Week 1, either. You can keep extracting value as the season progresses. Don’t sleep on this tool. Learn how to get the most out of it, and put it in action.
• The Massey-Peabody Ratings are updated weekly during the season. Cade Massey and Rufus Peabody put together their proprietary power ratings for the NFL and college football. It’s a great source for ratings on their own, or to blend expert analysis into your numbers. They include separate ratings for offense, defense and tempo in CFB.
