It was a messy match, featuring 11 breaks of serve and 15 double faults, but the Ukrainian improved as the match progressed and found a way through in the end. Yastremska, who arrived late due to visa issues, had the physio out to patch up her right foot early in the third set but finished strongly. Osorio was just two points away from victory in the second-set tiebreak but couldn’t close, and faded in the decider.
